A really nice and clear explanation about the housing bailout passed today by Congress. Basically our currency is more and more based on valueless securities. We are not going in the right direction.

This is the first great thing Barak Obama has done and he’s not even President yet! How fantastic is it that not only does he set the precident as to who will not be giving them money but just the fact that they don’t feel they NEED the money. Totally fantastic.
It was all sort of crazy but Clint Reagan and I decided to shoot a film a few weeks ago. We were going to be there for a business trip to Tokyo and instead of doing what most normal rational people do (be tourists) we decided we’d rather fill the empty spaces with writing and directing a short film. We wrote the script on the airplane, cast over the two days we had to business and spent Saturday and Sunday shooting the thing. It was amazingly fun and tough at the same time. In the end it was a great little expirament for us both to get behind cameras and direct actors. There were a ton of problems to overcome but we had a lot of great help from people we met up with in Tokyo.

As I have read stories and articles from around the world that don’t seem t have any significance I have to admit that this thought has always been in the back of my mind since 2001. Especially when you start to look at the pipelines from the Caspian and where our leadership came from. There’s so much information out there that links together but without proper context is seemingly unconnected. It is tricky to put together but this article does a very nice job.
Today is super Tuesday so be sure to get out and vote. A few pieces of information for Independants and Democrats in California to help you avoid what is an illegal ballot issue that might negate your vote.

I was faced with the daunting task of renewing my registration for one of my vehicles the other day. Usually not a big deal but in this case I didn’t get the registration notice for three months after it had expired. This happens when you work out of the country for a while and the truck is in another city all together. Anyway, upon arriving at the DMV with no appointment I saw a huge line inside and basically was about to turn around when I spotted this machine.
Now, I am suspicious of anything at the DMV but this seemed like it might be useful. Nice color screen, pretty icons and what looked like an easy to use interface. So, standing there looking at the line inside - then to the machine - then to the line and wondering why there was no line at this seemingly useful looking machine I became kind of scared to actually try and use it. You know what they say about the short line at the DMV… So, while I stood there paralyzed by the idea of getting into the short line and worrying about the time I was wasting contemplating using this machine which could waste even more time thus causing me to lose a better place in the long line inside a little old Mexican man shorter than me wandered over to the machine with a DMV representative and managed to renew his registration for cash on the spot in under 3 minutes. Sticker, registration and all. Even after watching this demonstration I had to ask the DMV lady if what I had saw was for real to which she smiled and replied “yes, you can do the same thing.” So I jumped in, selected “English,” scanned my registration notice which pulled up my name and vehicle, confirmed my vehicle and charges, slid my credit card and it printed a new 2008 sticker, registration card and a receipt. Total time 3 minutes. All I could say was “wow” over and over as I ran back to my car as if I had gotten way with something illegal. I’m still happy about it and obviously since I took a picture and am blogging about it I hope you can use it too.
